capture video

when i try to capture video from my dv camera, I can get just the audio
sometimes and then a dialog box comes up and says importing files but nothing
ever happens or does it take a really long time for this to happen

Use a firewire cable and NOT USB.

Cari is correct. USB is too slow and will not download the data as fast as
your DV camera is sending it and visa versa. Use the firewire (often marked
DV in).
