Capture failure

I have a Canon ZR30mc mini DVD camera and it worked with
pinnacle studio 8 with windows 98se. I have a new
computer with lots of speed and space and Win Xp Prof.
It does not capture in movie maker or Pinnacle studio 8.
Pinnacle told me to reformat and I did. Now only have
Win Movie Maker and P studio 8 running and same problem.
It doesn't recognize the camera in VCR video mode. The
controls work ie rewind, stop, play start but no preview
of capture. I get error found. The camera and software
are XP compatable. Cannon cannot resolve the problem and
the camera works with Win 98se. Any idea how to fix?

Try the DVIO utility - there's a link on the Camcorders... General page of
www.papajohn.org

That'll help you determine if it's an issue related to software, or one of
your firewire capture process.
