For some reason I cannot view source of another web
page. I have emptied files and cookies, enlarged the
cache, and have a blank NotePad when I ask to view
source. I do not have a NotePad on my desktop. I have
search all over Microsoft and other sites, but does not
seem to pertain to me: that is... I.E. 6 SP1 and Windows
XP SP1.

Anyone with knowledge about this?

Many thanks, Larry

Try the following and see it this will help.

Can't View 'Source ' - Courtesy of Don Varnau:

First, clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content.) It's often recommended that the TIF
folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)

If you have a shortcut to Notepad.exe on the desktop, rename it.

Some people have reported that Quick View Plus can cause this

No none of this pertained to me. I utilize WindowsXP. I
even went into regedit and changed from 1 to a 0. No
good. Changed it back. Still no good.

I guess I am out of luck.

Sorry that I could not be of more help to resolve your problem, but perhaps
someone else will have an answer for you. If I may suggest, it would be
very helpful if you also included what version of Windows you are running in
future posts, as it makes it much easier to determine the right choice of
information or help instructions to recommend. :-)

Good luck in getting your problem resolved.

Hi Jan:

I did state my version of windows. Don't blame you.
After viewing many msg's, one forgets what he/she has
seen or not seen.

Thanks anyway, Larry

cannot view source of another web page.

Some content providers have tricks to prevent you from viewing source.
Do you have a particular example which would aid discussion?
