Internet Explorer 6
Windows XP Home
When I am viewing a web page and select View > Source (or right-click on the
screen and use the pop-up menu) I expect to see the HTML source code for
that page. (That's what has happened for me with previous versions of
IE/Windows.) But on my new computer nothing happens when I do this.
I have tried the MS Knowledge Base. Two suggestions there (although not
specifically for latest IE/Windows versions) are to empty Temporary Internet
Files and to check that Notepad is installed. I have done both of these, but
without it making any difference. Notepad certainly works. (Windows was
pre-installed, and I assume it is installed in the default location.)
There is now a button on the toolbar for editing, which appears to be
'greyed out' for some sites. However, when it is not 'greyed-out' it brings
up the source code as expected - but View > Source still doesn't work.
Does anyone have any other suggestions, please? Could there be settings that
affect the ability to use this function?
Thanks,
Paul
