Can't view html sources

OK.. this is weird. It started a few days ago.

Normally, I could go to ANY webpage, let the page load and then view it's
source eith by right clicking on the page, then selecting view source, or by
clicking the edit button in the toolbar or by click view>source.

But now ... I can't! The edit button is greyed out for lack of a better
decsription in the tool bar and even though right clicking and/or selecting
"view" in the top tools options, I can click 100 times and the source code of
the page will not come up.

I've got all of the latest IE patches and am using Home XP with SP2
I've tried to erase history and cookies, IE itself, reinstalled and it's
still there.

Anybody got any ideas?

Hi stlgatekeeper :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Do a review of the information here:

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Temporary Internet Files Use More Disk Space Than Specified
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;301057

Be sure to delete all the Offline files also?

also.....

If you have a shortcut to Notepad on your desktop either delete it or try
renaming as "Note Pad", without the quotes. If you have a shortcut to
HotePad on your Quick Launch toolbar, try renaming it to Text View.

or.......

Try changing the "Encoding" option in your "View" menu to something
different and see if that helps.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Jan :)
