Can't view HELP in Excel

If I disable the Office Assistant and use help I get an
error of MSOHELP.exe has generated errors and will be
closed by Windows. Office 2000 and Windows 2k is what I
use.

PS if I do enable the Office Assistant then Help operates
fine.
