Can't use outlook express from remote laptop

I want to sign into pop3 from my laptops and desktop so that which ever
computer I sign in from, the mail goes to the store folder on the desktop.
When I try to change the store folder on my laptops to the desktop folder I
can navigate to the desktop folder but it is greyed out so I can't select it.

I am using XP r3 and OE 6. My network and workgroups are set up and working
fine with remote desk top. I have marked the store folder as shared. I have
set up all the computers with me as the administrator and use the same login
ID o all the computers.

Any way to solve this would be appreciated.

Outlook Express was never designed to behave this way. OE is a one
access application. Only one version of OE can access the central
store folder at one time.
