Can't use MSWord 2002 as MSOutlook 2002 word editor?

I am using MSWindows XP Home Edition Version 2002 with SP2 with MS Office XP
Professional 2002. On the MSOutlook main page under Tools>Options>Mail Format
I have selected HTML as the e-mail format and checked both boxes: Use MS Word
to edit e-mail mesages and use MSWord to read Rich Text e-mail messages. Upon
opening a new e-mail message for composition, I received the following
message: "This form requires Word as your e-mail editor, but Word is either
busy or cannot be found. The form will be opened in the Outlook editor
instead". I have used the same setup on my old laptop and it worked fine. I
tried re-installing MS Office XP and the probelm remains. Does anyone have
any ideas on how to fix this problem so that I can use MSWord as my MSOutlook
editor? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

"Bother," said Pooh as he struggled with the computer.

"It never does quite what I want."

I removed MS Works and ran repair on Office. Re-started the computer, made
sure the Use MSWord as Outlook e-mail box was selected as well as use HTML
format. I then opened a new e-mail and received the same message as before:
MSWord is busy or cannot be found ... Outlook editor will be used instead. I
went through the Add/Delete Progams and did see Word Viewer listed. Any other
suggestions?

I did not see Word Viewer in the installed program listing. Is Word Viewer
part of another program?

I am using MS Office XP Professional Version 10.0.2627.01. Is this the
latest version? Is there an update that fixes the problem with Outlook 2002
not allowing Word 2002 to be selected/used as the Outlook editor? Outlook
reverts back to using the Outlook editor instead, after displaying the
message that Word is busy or cannot be found. How/where do I find what is the
latest version of MS Office XP Professional with Publisher Version 2002? What
is the latest version?

See if this helps. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=319796 . Also, make
sure your PC name doesn't contain an "@".
