I am unable to use a .jpg as wallpaper now. I know I previously could - I
have Win XP Pro SP2. When I browse for a wallpaper choice, it defaults to the
'My Photos' folder from 'My Documents' I don't believe it used to do this, I
think it used to go to Windows/web/wallpaper folder. Any idea what happened,
and how I can remedy this? It's not a GP setting as far as I can tell.

Usually an indication of a system in bad need of cleaning. In particular your
temp folders may be full. I use CCleaner myself. TTFN.

Well, I use CC as well, and have cleaned recently. I did it again just in
hopes that might work, but, alas, no. I can still use .bmp (maybe I should
have mentioned that in the forst post?) wallpaper, just not .jpg's for some
reason.

sounds odd. Do jpg icons show a picture or a 'generic file' image? Can you
open jpg's? with it open in win fax and pic viewer you can right click it and
choose 'set as wallpaper.

Try choosing 'browse' with display properties open to the display tab.
