can't update confusion

alittle while ago i wrote about inability to update
windows. i am able to ping the update site but not bring
up the page or extract files due to a corrupt file.
Tried system restore point prior to last update i
remember--alas-- to no avail! What to do? Please help.

Hmmmm....

Have you considered doing a Repair installation of Windows? Not a
REinstallation.... but a Repair.
