Can't uninstall printer software

I cannot reinstall my HP k60 - keep getting already
installed msg. XP control panel/add-remove programs
indicates that the K60 software is still on the computer,
but won't give the change/remove options. There are no K60
files in directories and I have cleaned the registery per
HP support's guidance - no change. Norton clean sweep gives
nothing also.

rather thatn going into add/remove programs, have you
tried to use the uninstall program within the printer
folder ie. start>programs>HP k60> uninstall.........if
thats no help the the HP site may be of more use Good

Yes. That's apparently what started all this - it didn't uninstall it
completely.
