Can't Uninstall AVG 7.0

So I had AVG installed on my slaved hard drive, drive E. Drive E is no
more. I am not able to install AVG on drive C because AVG's installer
thinks I still have AVG installed on drive E. Nor can I uninstall or
repair the installation using AVG's installer.

Is there any way to uninstall AVG from a non-existent drive that
doesn't involve going through the registry and searching for AVG and
Grisoft so I can delete each mention? (If I have to go that route, can
anyone confirm that this will take care of the problem?)

Edit the registry after first backing it up. Under the following
keys, remove the subkeys for AVG (or Grisoft):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Some uninstall subkeys use a alphanumeric class identifier instead of
an easy-to-read text string. For those, look at the DisplayName data
item within each to identify what it is for.

Possibly cleaning the temp folders may help ,as the installer usually
extracts to a temp folder first. You may have the old installation still
showing in a temp folder. Also check that you dont have any grisoft
settings in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft
