Can't turn off Track Changes

We are using Word 2002 and received a document that the Track Changes were
turned on. I have tried to turn off Track Changes but the button on the
toolbar is grayed out. I also tried to Accept All Changes, which is not
grayed out, but choosing this has no effect. We have no problem changing the
document and I can't find any kind of protection. The Track Changes works
fine in every other document. Please help.

It sounds like Document Protection was used to protect the document
for Tracked Changes. Go to Tools/Unprotect document and see if that
resolves the issue.
