Can't TCP/IP Print from CMD Window

D

Dave K.

When using TCP/IP printing from a CMD window, printing
hangs. Test prints from Windows and all Windows apps work
fine. Have also tried using a Windows Print Server. Even
simple commands, i.e., DIR > PRN just hang. Anyone have
any suggestions? We still have a few DOS apps that need
to print. Thanks for any info. Seems like the CMD
windows just are not talking to the print spooler.

I had a problem which may be the same problem.
It was caused by the install of PCanywhere. The solution
required going into the registry as follows.
-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\
Monitors [PC Anywhere / HP / Bitware removed] -
Stopped / Started Spooler service......printing from cmd
line working fine. - Re-enabled 3rd party services via
MSCONFIG .......rebooted.

We had a similar or same problem. due to the install of
PCanywhere. Had to go into the registry and delete
PCanwhere. It caused conflicts.
