can't share printer windows 2000 to laptop w/ windows xp

I have 2 computers connected w/ a linksys router. The
main computer has a HP printer attached to it and is
running Windows 2000. Sharing on the printer is enabled.
My laptop is Windows XP Home. I go to add the printer
and i tell it to take the printer connected to another
computer. It sees the other computer but does not see
the printer. It asks for a printer name or path?? Can
anyone help.

Try going to the pc that the printer is attached to and
right click on printer (in the Printers window under the
Control Panels), select Properties and go to the share
tab. Click on Shared As and name the printer for sharing
purposes.

Make sure all computers are in the same workgroup and that all useraccounts
exist on all computers. Got File- and printersharing loaded?
