Can't send/rec emails in outlook 2003 but can in outlook express

I've recently upgraded to office 2003 professional and set-up my email
accounts in outlook--my emails will not send or receive. To see if I am
doing something wrong, I set-up outlook express the exact same way, and it
sends/receives wonderfully! What could be wrong?

I tested the settings in outlook 2003 and all tests were successful. But
every time I hit send/receive (with a test message to myself sitting in the
outbox), nothing happens...even progress notes say it sends, but it doesn't,
and it always hangs on receiving.

Enable diagnostic logging (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=300479) and
examine what's actually transpiring between Outlook and your server. If you
can't follow what's there, post the log here.

I have the same problem and tried this but it seems to track the comings and
goings of emails but since nothing is moving what good will it do? Maybe I am
misunderstanding the process here.

It does track the comings and goings of mail, but it also logs the
conversation the client and server exchange and can lead to the discovery of
why messages won't come or go.
