Can't Send Messages Thru Outlook 2003 With Symantec Antivirus Runn

A few weeks ago, I had to re-install Symantec Antivirus because it stopped
functioning (came home from work and saw a yellow ! across the Symantec
Antivirus icon in my tray). Now, if I keep getting the message via Symantec
that "Your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server
rejected the message. (1003,11)" I followed the instructions as posted on
the Symantec site and disabled the Internet E-mail Auto-Protect feature from
the Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition I run, restarted the computer, but
no luck. I can receive mail from others, but I can't send mail with
attachments.

Uninstall Symantec Antivirus and reboot. Check your Outlook settings and/or
make sure you can collect mail. If everything looks right, reinstall SAV
but w/out the email integration.

Ok. My concern is that I won't have any protection for malicous emails that
I receive. Is this the case?

Yes.

PS - I don't use the client side protection because my site has server side
protection for malicious content.

Since I have a stand alone computer (not connected to any servers) at my
home. How can I maintain some security for emails? I shudder to think that
I will be left with no email protection, since that is how all viruses have
attempted to come into my system.

Go ahead and reinstall it with integration. By the way, if you are running
the corporate edition, you might want to check with whomever supplied it to
you and see if you have the latest version.

PS - Latest and greatest is SAV 10.
