can't send fax

Hi all.
i have a problem that i can't send any fax in windows
2000, my modem is working fine because i usually log in
the internet. Not sure how to troubleshoot this problem,
please help me out! thanks in advanced.

Is your modem fax compatible? Not all modems are fax compatible. Run
devmgmt.msc, select modems, right click on the modem listed and select
properties. Goto diagnostics tab and click on query modem. Scroll down the
list of commands. If AT+FCLASS=? shows 1 or 2 or 2.0 it is fax compatble.

If you find that the modem is indeed Fax compatible, please ensure that the
Send is enabled for the modem. You can check this by going to
Start-Programs->Accessories->Communications->Fax->Fax Service Management.
This will show the device on the left - on the right pane, select the device
and right click. You will see "Send" and "Receive" - enable whichever
functionality you want.
