I have been having problems sending mail for about 2 weeks, I can receive
messages just fine. I have spoke with my internet provider and they cant
help either. I was told to stop using Windows Mail and use something else.
But I think that there should be a resolution of some sort.

I am using Windows Vista, running IE 7.0.6001.18000, with Windows Mail.

The error message that i am receiving is: Your server has unexpectedly
terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems,
network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Subject 'Fw: , Account:
'pop3.Lcom.net', Server: 'smtp.Lcom.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F.

Please reply with any suggestions.
Thanks
WT

Two possibilities.
Are you using a laptop away from home? If so, your temporary
connection provider will block access to any port 25 server except
their own.

Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not very
compatible with Windows Mail.

I am only using a desktop computer. I was using TrendMicro with Webroot Spy
Sweeper. I used the programs for 1 year. They were expiring on 6-13, so i
just purcharsed Webroot Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus. So for the 1st week that
i could not send emais i was using the 1st 2 programs and now i just have 1
program and it is still the same problem.
Thanks

As a test, I suggest that you uninstall your antivirus program, reboot,
then try Windows Mail again. If no improvement, you can always reinstall.

I to have been having the same issue; I finally resolved it by disabling my
firewalls, spyware, etc. but what I think actually resolved the issue was
when I deleted everything in my Windows Mail outbox . Let me know if this
works for you.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Wendy, Just had the same problem and now solved thanks to a responce you
had.

When you are at home your email account name is registered thru your service
provider.. Mine was Telewest now virgin. so My account was a
blueyonder.co.uk pop3 and smtp account... I am now at my friends house and
althoug she too is with virgin when she set the account up it was NTL. so go
into you account set up and change your outgoing smtp to what ever the
service provider account prefix is Ntl is mtlworld.com but yours may be
different

If you dont understand my rambles email me back and i will help you directly
(e-mail address removed)

And now for what ever reason I am able to send emails. I have sent 6 today
and they have went out just fine. The only thing that i did was delete
TrendMicro on Friday but it took about 1 1/2 days still after that for me to
be able to send anything. I will keep you posted if it stops working again.

Thanks for all the advise.

Of course right after i typed this last comment, i am not able to send again.
I am going check my firewalls.

Since your previous antivirus may have corrupted that account, delete
the account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate the account.

Ok I have tried everything and still I am not able to send. Are there any
other suggestions.

That's probably like jumping from the frying pan into the fire!

See if that program allows you to disable its interaction with email.

Yes, I replaced TrendMicro with Webroot Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus

Are you saying that the program that i just purchased at Best Buy is not the
best to use? I think that i will just have to go with trying Windows Live.
This is just bizzar since i used the Windows Mail for just 2 weeks shy of 1
year with no problems.

Problems in Windows Mail caused by interference from antivirus
programs are often slow to show up, such as several months.

You should have asked the experts here for recommendations before
buying that antivirus program. The free antivirus products, Avast and AVG,
are good enough, and are much more compatible with Windows Mail.

WELL GUESS WHAT!! My email finally works. The problem was with one of the
Webroot Shields. The shield that reads "email attachment" was checked, which
is for attachments. Even though i never had an attachment in my email,
Webroot must be reading the body of the email as an attachment. All i did
was "uncheck" this box and BOOM---there went my email. Now i am waiting for
a reply from Webroot to find a fix to that problem.

thanks everyone for all of your helo. Also this might help other peoples
problems also.... :):):)

As we preach here quite regularly, any sort of email interference by third
party security products is bad for Windows Mail.
