Can't Send Emails (Can Recieve)

Admittedly, I've been toying around with setting up Outlook 2007 (in XP) and
as a novice may have only worsened my issues; but alas, here I am. I have an
old aol account that keeps popping up in error message when I try send
emails. I recieve the following error messages when trying to send emails:

1). Task '(e-mail address removed) - Receiving' reported error (0x80040900) : 'The server
name you entered cannot be found on the network (it might be down
temporarily). Verify that you are online and that the server name is correct.'

2). Task '(e-mail address removed) - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0D) : 'Cannot find
the e-mail server. Verify the server information in your account properties.'

I only want to use the hosted Exchange server and fear that somehow I royal
f'd this up..

Thanks for pointers,
Needy

Have you tried removing the aol account from Outlook (tools menu, email
accounts)?
