You don't state your circumstances. Are you emailing in a corporate setting
or as a home user with a dialup account?

Many email servers require authentication for outgoing mail and an improper
setup will cause the error you describe.

If your email to these addresses has been working fine and has just stopped
working, please post more information. What kind of setup are you using?
(dialup, corporate email server, dsl, pop, imap, etc) Are you receiving mail
ok? Can you send email to anyone or just this one email?

I'm working off of a dsl connection from home. the email account that i'm
using is from my domain enthos.net ([email protected]). I just tried sending
it to another email ([email protected]) and it actually went through. Does
that mean I can only send emails to certain addresses? thats weird. what
can i do?

thanks for your reply...

(e-mail address removed) and (e-mail address removed) are in the same domain. The other
emails are in different domains -- hotmail.com and mail.com. It looks like
your email server is only allowing email to the local domain and not
relaying email to other domains. Do you have your own email server or is
someone hosting your email services? If someone is hosting your services,
you should contact them and tell them that you can't send email to other
domains. If you have your own email server, what kind is it?

My email is hosted by IMAIL; and I got on their website and sent off an email
from there (instead of outlook) and it work! So this has to be an OUTLOOK
issue, right?

It doesn't appear to be an Outlook issue. You are sending the email out and
another server is telling you that the hosts are unreachable. You also
appear to be able to send email to other enthos.net accounts. To me, this
indicates a problem at the email server. The email server is not allowing
your client computer to send messages to other domains (anything other than
enthos.net). This may be a relaying issue. It is allowing such mail from
the website because the website computer is within their own network, so it
is trusted to relay email to other domains.

You should call your IMAIL technical support and tell them: "I can send
email to other enthos.net accounts, but all emails to other domains are
returned with an undeliverable error, 550 not local host. I can send email
just find from the website, too." This gives them a good starting point for
resolving the problem.
