can't send email

Sharon

I have used Windows email for over a year and now all of a sudden I cannot
send email. I can receive. I also have an item in my outbox that will neither
send nor delete. I use Cox webmail as a server. Any ideas

Do you get an error message when you try to send? If yes, right-click on the
error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

If no error message, open the Outbox folder. Move as many of the Outbox
messages as you can to he Drafts folder. If any won't move or can't be deleted,
apply this Microsoft fix:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'te', Account: 'mail.nmteck.com', Server:
'mail.nmteck.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0F

What ISP are you connected to when you get these messages?

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

That can be the problem.. In Windows Mail (also Outlook Express)
when an address is incorrect, the message will not go through. If you
are seinding to multiple addresses I would suggest you just delete the
message in the outbox and try again..
