can't select printer

I have xp and office 2003. Before office 2003 was
installed I was able to click file-print and choose from
a list of printers. Now I am not able to select a printer
of choice as they are greyed out. Any suggestions of how
to fix this. Thanks in advance.
 
Make sure the printer you want to use as the default is selected as such.
