When I open up my website in Frontpage to do editing, A folder that has
multiple files isn't being shown in Frontpage. Even though I can see the
folder and files fine on the hard drive, and all other folders are showing in
Frontpage - I just can't see this one. Any idea's - Thanks!!!

Ideas, post the folder name and versions of software you are using.

Why do you think there is a folder there?

If the folder starts with an _underline it is a hidden folder.
Tools->Site/Web Settings - Advanced tag
Tick the box "Show hidden files and folders" and click OK

Note that the _derived folder will always be hidden in FrontPage.

Using: IIS 6.0. to host / Frontpage 2002 to edit. The folder is on the root
of the web. I can see the folder when I open up the website folder on my
hard-drive - but can't see the folder and contents when I open up the website
in frontpage to do editing. All other web-folders are showing up fine.

No it's not a hidden frontpage folder like _vti_bin. It's a regular folder
that I created
to place regualar web files in: asp / htm. the sort.

Did you create the folder from within FP?
....not with Explorer.

| /comment_files - this is on the root of the web
|
| "www.website.com/comment_files" It's strange that the folder before and
| after this one is showing in frontpage.

/content_files. It's not a vti or hidden frontpage folder. It's one that I
created and have asp and htm files in it.

sorry...I was just messin' around.
How did you create that folder?...with FP or Explorer?

Sounds like a thicket folder.

When you save a Word document, an Excel document, or a PowerPoint
presentation as a Web page that uses an .htm or html extension, a main
HTML file is created in addition to a folder that contains supporting
files for the Web page. The folder uses the same name as the HTML file
of the Web page, in the form pagename_files. This folder is known
as a thicket.

A thicket is also created when VML graphics are used in a web page.
VML graphics are created when using FP Drawing Objects, text boxes (do
not confuse with any form fields) and Word Art.

Thickets are always hidden in FrontPage, and always appear to be
manipulated as a single object.

In Windows Explorer, you can control how thickets are manipulated:

Tools->Folder Options
On the View Tag, look for "Managing pairs of Web Pages and Folders"
and pick an option..

Did you ever find a solution to this? I have multiple folders that are not
showing up, and they are not hidden, have been recalculated, etc. Please let
me know if you have found a solution.

can you only not see them with FrontPage, or can you not see them even with
windows explorer?

What is the exact name of one of these folders?

it's just in front page, and I can see 9 of the 13 folders that are there.
the folders are named exactly as the web page, with a _files after the name.
i.e. a page created named mypage would have a folder mypage_files. These
pages were created using Frontpage 2003, I did not create the folders, only
the pages. The only way to publish the information in the folders that don't
show up, is to publish the entire site, so Frontpage recognizes the folders
are there, just a few of them aren't showing up for me to individually
publish. I have another post up in here that someone said they were
"thickets" and the Frontpage can't create these folders, but obviously either
frontpage can create them, or these folders are not thickets, because I
created my entire site with frontpage, and these folders exist.

FP will create thickets under certain circumstances - see my response
to your other post.
