Can't see files on CD in Windows Explorer on XP Professional

O

ohiohotrod

I'm new to XP Professional, so this may be an easy (or foolish?!) question.

The files on a CD are displayed in Windows Explorer on my XP Home laptop,
but are not displayed in Windows Explorer on my XP Professional desktop. My
Folder Options/View settings are the same on both machines.

Can anyone suggest why these files are NOT being displayed in Windows
Explorer on my XP Professional machine? Is there another setting in XP
Professional that controls the display of files in Windows Explorer (on CD's?
because this is the only case in which I notice that file names are not being
displayed)?

Thanks.

What exactly do you see when you try to open the CD on the troublesome
laptop?

Is this a commercial CD or one that you or someone else created?
