can't see body of messages after easy transfer

I used easy transfer from a vista notebook to a replacement vista notebook.
The email folders came over and show a number of messages, but when I click
on the folder, it says the folder is empty. Where did the actual messages
go, and how can I get Mail to find them?

I have switched over to Live Mail Beta for everyday use, but I have archived
messages in Windows Mail that I need. Can I find them from Live Mail?

Thanks for your help.

The messages you transferred to WM may be in a "Imported" folder.

You can tell WLM to import messages from WM:
Alt (to get the old menu bar), File, Import...

I do have imported folders, with several sub-folders in each, but when I
click on them, it says the folder is empty. My deleted items folder shows 53
items, but when I click on it, it also says the folder is empty.

I did try importing the messages into Live Mail, but I only see empty
folders, just like in Windows Mail. Are they really lost?

Sometimes the folders have sub-folders, and you have to dig down
to get to the messages.

If that is not the case, make sure you are not using a non-compatible
antivirus. Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
and Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
