Can't see attachments

I have a user on our network that cannot see attachements. It doesn't happen
all the time, but about 50% of the time. He will see his list of new mail
messages, it will indicate that there is an attachment, but when he opens the
message, there is no attachment. He can forward that same message to someone
else, and they will be able to view the attachment. Is there some setting in
Outlook that's doing this?

Thanks

Version of Outlook?
Type of mail account?
What message format is the message being received in?

Whoops...sorry. It's Outlook 2003 and we have an exchange server (if you mean
the type of mail account). I'm not sure of the message format, but I will
find out. Odd thing is, is that he does sometimes get attachments. I'm not
sure if it's him or the people sending them.

See if you find a pattern. For instance that attachments are being displayed
for Plain Text but not for HTML or Rich Text.
