can't see anything in Recycle Bin

Hello everyone
the problem is that I don't see anything in my Recycle Bin on my windows XP
Professional, even Though in the property of the RECYCLER folder in the file
explorer I see that I have about 700 MB in the folder, but now since I
realized the problem even if I put something in the Recycle Bin the number in
the property's doesn't change.
the option "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin..." is not selected on my
Recycle Bin

Thank you very much

[[No files may appear in the Recycle Bin if the files in the Recycled folder
are damaged.]]

Run Error Checking. Reboot. Try to empty the Recycle Bin again.

Error Checking (chkdsk.exe).
1. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, right-click the drive you want to
check, and then click Properties.
2. On the Tools tab, click Check Now.
3. Select both of these:

o Automatically fix file system errors
o Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors

You have to reboot for Error-checking to run.

For a look at the chkdisk log.
Open the Event Viewer...
Start | Run | Type: eventvwr | OK
Look in Application | Listed as Information |
Event ID: 1001
