Can't Save Document to CD

When I try to save a Word document to the D: drive, I am given a message
saying that "Access to D: is denied...see Administrator." I am the
Administrator and have never had trouble writing audio CD's. What do I need
to do in order to write my word documents to CD's?

To save directly to a CD you'll need third-party packet writing software. (Also known as 'drive letter access' or DLA software.) Windows XP does not have this ability.

Isn't there a facility to copy files to a CD in Windows XP? I
did get some software (In-CD) with my machine that allows you to
treat a CD as a big floppy but formatting the disc is very
time-consuming and I have not used it much.
