Can't restore computer to license group.

Hello,
My basic problem is that I deleted a computer from the
license group, and can't restore it.
This is a single server 2000 with about 20 workstations.
I was having problems with program access on some
workstations and thought it might be a licensing issue. I
went to the Licensing program in Administrative Tools and
found that we were way over the limit. I found the users
(which were actually computers and their C drives, e.g.
JSMITH [a computer] and JSMITH$ [which I interpret as its
C drive]) and I found the dates last used and pared down
by deleting those that hadn't been used in over a year.
Well one computer is now inaccessible because it says it
was connected by its C drive (Name$) and now its gone.
When I use the Licensing program, it gives me no way to
add users nor computers. When I go to the options/edit
group, there is no group listed. When I create a new
group, it accepts the users and computers, but has no
effect, they are not listed in the clients per seat tab,
and the computer still won't log on.
I've also stopped and restarted the license logging
service with no effect.
When I do this and rename the Cpl.cfg and Llsmap.lls and
Lluser.lls files, I have no groups at all and it will only
let me add users, not computers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The license logging service is buggy. Most people stop/disable it and keep
track of their licenses manually.
