Can't reply to an email from an added mailbox

I am using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003. I have a user that needs to be
able to have full control of another users mailbox. I went into this users
control panel\mail and added the new mailbox. In the new mailbox in the
Active Directory I went into the Mailbox Rights and added the user that needs
to access it and gave her full permissions. Now in her Outlook she can see
the new mailbox. She is able to open email but when she tries to reply it
tells her, 'You do not have the permission to send the message on behalf of
the specified user'. If I remove the From address it will send the reply but
with the users From address and not the new mailboxes address. Would anyone
know how to reply using the new mailboxes From address? Any help would be
appreciated.

Thank you,

Mike Stevens

You'll need to provide her with Send As or Send on Behalf Of permissions as
well for that. You can do this on the AD object holding the additional
mailbox.

Thank you for the reply. I'm still confused though. If I go to the AD and
open the new object that has the additional mailbox and click on Advanced and
then select the user that needs this mailbox and click on Edit, it already
shows that Send As is checked. I'm not sure what to do now.

I just re-did it and it worked. ???? Thank you very much for your help and
have a good night.

Good to hear! Some settings in Exchange 2003 take a while for actually being
applied. Also, security settings usually require the end-user to start a new
session (either in Outlook or even in Windows) to make sure you are not
working with cached credentials.

You're welcome and have a good night too!
