Can't remove ver 3.0 of Google Earth

When I try to remove Google Earth 3.0 I get the following: The feature you
are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK or
enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package
"Google Earth.msi".

I don't have Google Earth.msi on my computer, so how can I get rid of this
version?

I can download the latest version of Google earth but when I try to run it,
it says my current version is 3.0 and I need to upgrade to 4.3.

So somehow I need to get rid of version 3.0.

What is the error message you get when you try to install the current
version? Does the following Google FAQ response help any?

I had a similar issue and had to uninstall the windows installer and get the
original installer version 1.0 and then update it and then it worked.
