Hello
I have both Win2K Pro and WinXP Pro operating systems. I've tried everything to remove Win 2000, including the suggestions I've seen posted (boot disks, etc). The setup CD for 2000 says I have a newer version than on the disk (??). I even tried to format the hard drive through DOS ("cmd") but when it attempts to force a dismount it fails because the c drive is in use by another process - which I assume is Win2K.

Any suggestions

You need to boot from the CD. Don't run it from within windows.

Set your BIOS to boot from the CD, insert the CD, and reboot.

Shut down your computer. Put in a CD or floppy boot disk
and restart. Make sure you know what drive you want to
format and do it. A friendly reminder: all data will be
lost!
