Can't remove Norton Antivirus

Unable to remove Norton anti-virus - it says error 1291 - and asks me to
check whether I have sufficient privileges to remove system resources. This
is my own laptop, working from home, and my account is system administrator.
However, I have freedom firewall installed, and webroot spy sweeper too -
could these be stopping me accessing / removing system files. Any advice
gratefully received.

Use the above utility to remove all traces of a previous version of Norton AntiVirus.

internet software such as firewall's, do actually
protect virus software incase it is a virus trying to
remove or modify your scanner.
