Can't Remove Network Printer

I've been beating my head against the wall here. I have a printer connected
via the network to my Windows Server 2003. Now, I've connected to that
server's shared connection on a Windows XP desktop. However, due to some
server issues, I've had to change the driver for the printer. The problem?
Now I'm trying to remove the old printer from Windows XP so that the desktop
can load the new driver and print correctly, but it won't let me delete it!
It keeps telling me it's unable to connect to the network printer and starts
trying to troubleshoot me through getting the printer to work which it
*won't* because that particular printer/driver combination no longer exists!
Can anyone help me here, or should I cross-post to Windows Server 2003 or
something do you think?

Stop the print spooler first .... from the command prompt, type

net stop spooler

Now try to delete it.

Remember to restart the spooler afterwards by typing

net start spooler

at the command prompt.
