Can't remove favorites

I delete listings in Favorites but the same list keeps reappearing every time
I log on to my computer.
I cannot find any of them in the Registry. Is there any way to permanently
remove these from the list?

You can try going into explorer and seeing if those favorites are listed
in the under:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Favorites

And delete them from there, and see if the gets rid of them.

Open Explorer to Drive C and do a search for the word "Favorites" .. get the path .. open the folder and delete the items you want removed.

Doesn't work. Went back and tried it again and have screwed up. I now don't
have Favorites listed in the Startup. How can I get it back?
