Okay, I screwed up my computer. I have two hard
discs. Disc #1 is one partition and I somewhat
successfully loaded Windows XP to it. Disc #2 had four
partitions -- three with my old Windows ME, and one with
Windows XP. On the second disc I cloned partition 3 (ME)
to partition 1 and it worked.
I wanted to start from scratch with XP. I cloned the
same partition, (#3-ME on disc 2) to disc 1-XP. Now I
can't get any of the partitions to boot. They were all
set as Primary Partitions, except for the extra XP
partition on disc 2 -- and all booted before I did the
final clone from disc 2 to disc 1.
I tried to load XP up from scratch on disc 1, but it
says it can't find any other versions of Windows on my
discs and therefore won't let me "upgrade" from my XP disc.
My Windows ME was an OEM, and I don't have any backup
discs or floppies for it. Can I download a floppy from
elsewhere to perhaps reboot my ME? Then again, the
computer is saying it can't find any Windows copies
anywhere, so that may not help either.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Dan Lega (e-mail address removed)
