Can't record audio

I have an ATI TV Wonder Pro card in my desktop. I'm recording from a Vhs /
DVD recorder unit with S-video attached. The video records fine but the
audio doesn't reord with it. I jumped the audio portion of the Wonder card
to the blue "line in" jack on my Asus board like I was told I should and
still get nothing. A while back I used Studio 9 software and had no problems
with this hookup.

Any help???

Recheck the connections between the audio out (red and white RCA jacks) on
the DVD/VHS player and the audio input connections (red and white RCA jacks)
on the ATI card's pigtail (the same block that the S-Video is connected to.
If you are just running S-Video cable from the player to the pigtail, that
is video only and carries no audio.

Hope this helps, let us know.

Thanks for helping. The pigtail is securely attached to the correct 3 red,
white & yellow rci outputs as well as the DVD burner. The S- video hookup is
also attached. anything else?

You don't need the yellow hooked up as the yellow RCI is the other method of
transferring the Video. S-video is better.

In the setup program for the TV card there should be a method of letting the
computer know what source the audio is from. (I have an older All-In-Wonder
Pro that is no longer in use so I am writing from memory.) Look in the
setup for audio settings. IIRC when I used mine I actually had to set the
video source first then the audio source to get the sound. When I looked at
the manual for your card on ATI's web site it wasn't too much help either.

Go into the Sound properties in Control Panel (Sound, Recording) and see
what the settings for the Microphone and Line-in (if present) are set at.

One other check is to use the Mic in jack on the sound card if there are
different ports for Line-in and Microphone and see if that makes a
difference.
