Can't receive fax, but can send

Using internal modem. Fax is configured to automatically answer. Incoming
faxes fail. An error message appears in Fax Monitor, but that's the only
indication that attempted to receive a fax. No error message is generated at
sender's fax machine. Can send faxes with no problem. Need help to
troubleshoot. Thanks!

You have everyone one on pins and needles until you tell us what the error
message says!

Windows XP Fax is very intolerant of modems. If the modem you are using is
on the Windows XP HCL list, there may be some recourse, but only if you
enable extensive PSS and debug logging procedures to pinpoint the problem
for Microsoft

Hello Jack, I was wondering if you fixed the problem with faxing? I have yet
to fix the same problem. I have all the settings correct and I can send a
fax with no problem, but when I try to received a fax manually, I hit the
answer now button and it gives me the message error receiving fax or call
interrupted. I don't get it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect Norton anti-virus is interfering with fax receipt, jack. i
have exact same problem. no problem sending, but cannot receive a fax.

I can't add much to this conversation, but I must reply. I am having the
exact same problem - I can't receive a fax, although I can send. I have
browsed for three days and I also tried to take my problem to Microsoft
Customer support - with no luck anywhere. Am I correct in assumig that
Microsoft put an unworkable feature in its Windows XP program and intends to
leave it unworkable? I give up!
