Can't read CD's.

I had the pleasure of the WINSHOW bug. I have fixed the
problem to get my Internet Explorer browser working
again, but since the fix I can no longer read any media I
insert into my CD-Rom drive. Changing out the drive did
not help. Any ideas out there?

If my machine was infected then I would probably regard
it as compromised, required a complete reload.
