Can't printout background in grayscale

I have a show that was created using a picture imported into the master
background. The title slides print fine in grayscale but I can't get
the background to show up when printing the text slides. Right clicking
and adjusting the grayscale is not the solution. Any ideas? There is
only one master design in this show.

I figured it out. Someone had clicked "white" in the grayscale setting
