Text in shapes still appear in grayscale view

I'm using PowerPoint 2007. I often hide items on the slide so that they do
not show in the grayscale handouts.

Now, in 2007, text in shapes (not to be confused with a shape and a separate
text box) can not be hidden. I have tried all the grayscale options for the
shape and for the text. No joy. The shape hides, but the text doesn't.

I hate the idea of cludging, by placing separate text boxes over shapes,
then grouping them.

Has anyone found another work around?

Go to Home tab, Editing group, then Select. Open the Selection task pane.
Turn off the visibility of the items you don't want to print. When you print,
they won't show.

Thank you for your timely response. Unfortunately, once you set the
visibility of an object using the Select Panel, you set the visibility for
both the grayscale view and the full-color view.

I belive that a bug was introduced in 2007 and I just need to wait until it
gets fixed. Until that time I will probably have to separate the text from
the shapes and treat them as independent objects. Boo!!!

Thanks again!
