can't print - can't install printer

When trying to print I get the message "before you can
print you need to install......."

When clicking the Add Printer icon I get the
message "Operation could not be completed"

I think I may have deleted a windows system file earlier
this year called something like svhost.? whilst trying to
disinfect my computer.

I am currently running windows XP home, with service pack
1 and with all critical and sercurity updates installed.

I'm not complete sure what file is missing, and if i can
easily replace it by copying it from another computer?

Can any one help.

the files is svhost.exe, can this be copied directly from
another computer with windows XP?
