Can't print Black on Canon i560

Trying to install a new Canon i560 on XP. Black won't
print on the test page or any document. The CD in the box
has 5/03 dates. could these be old drivers?

The drivers on the Canon web site have an August, 2003 time stamp

It turned out to be a Canon defect. Apparently a very
common defect due to poor QC. I exchanged the printer and
the new one works.
