Can't open textpad

I cannot open text pad, either existing files or a new one.
Last significant thing I did was to to a virus scan with Macafee. It
found trojans that it could not clean and direct me to delete them or
quarantine them. After checking what they were- nothing that rung a
significant bell- I deleted what I could and quarantined the rest.
Can someone offer help?

Sorry, I meant notepad, which is, I belive, built into windows...

Textpad is only the greatest text-editing software ever =) I use it
exclusively for editing html/asp/javascript/etc. Anyway, yes, I agree with
Patrick; completely uninstall Textpad and reinstall. If you continue to
have problems, you might want to check to see if the Textpad or McAfee site
has a FAQ that addresses your question.

Hi, Tony...
It's notepad, not texpad- I corrected my nomenclature rror.
I understand it is built into windows. It does not appear in the uninstall
list. How can I do what you suggest?
