Can't open powerpoint with 2003 version

I

ika_86

I have to open a PowerPoint that was created on the 2007 version with a 2003
version. Everytime I try to either save and open or just open it says that
their is an error. I did notice that the 2007 version is saved with a .pptx
while the older version saves power points just as .ppt . Is their anyway
for me to view them, I really need your help ASAP as I need this for my class.

Thanks

PowerPoint 2003 can open 2007 files if you install the compatibility pack in
2003. See:

Additionally, 2007 defaults to saving files in the new format (.pptx) but
can save in the old format (.ppt). However, this is not necessary if your
version of 2003 has the compatibility pack.
