Charts not showing in 2007 version

Need help with this one, it created lots of problems and I had to go for
pictures of charts to make sure during presentation they were visable.

I had charts in 2007 version which were not visible after closing
presentation; I could see them in a Selection Pane though. The data and
charts were built in Excel 2003, then once we all moved to Office 2007 they
were opened in 2007 version and saved.
I got them already in PowerPoint presentation. Those which were opened in
2007 to apply color scheme were causing trouble. Additionally, at first I was
saving presentation as .pptx then as .ppt. and it was interesting that some
of the charts I could convert, but others were opening as in 2003 - in a
window, but I could still apply the color scheme to it.
Echo, you probably know the answer.

Thank you for our help in advance.

Since the charting packages in PPT2003 and PPT2007 are not compatible we have
found that the best practice is to open Excel 2007 before attempting to
create or edit charts in PPT 2007. This will save you from unexpected
crashes as well!
