Can't open PDF files in the browser

Anyone knows how can i configure my browser to open PDF
files? I have Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0, and i have the
plug in for open PDF documents in internet browsers but
when i am in some web page and i click the link in order
to open the document, it doesn't display it

Perhaps the latest version would help.
