Can't open .pdf file links with browser

When trying to open a .pdf file link with a web browser, the browser hangs.
I have to ctrl+alt, del to close the browser application. I've tried ie6,
ie7, mozilla and firefox with the same results. I am using adobe 7 reader
but also downloaded Foxit reader and got the same results.
Thanks for any help.

See if this helps. In Adobe Reader go to the Edit menu, select Preferences,
then choose "Internet" and unselect "Display PDF in Browser.\

If that doesn't do it, you can right click the hyperlinks to .pdf's and
choose to download the .pdf's from there.

Milt, that didn't work either. Maybe I should be more clear about what I'm
doing. I did a Google search and the result was a link to a .pdf file. I
can't connect to the link and open the file in any browser. All browsers
hang and I have to close browser by ctrl+alt-del. I CAN open the link on
another computer with no problem so I know it's a good link.
When right clicking on the Google search result link I don't get an option
to download the .pdf file. On some Google search results that are .pdf files
I do have an option to open as html which I can open fine. Not all search
results give me the option to view as html.
Thanks for your help.

Sorry I misunderstood your post. I can't offer anything to help. Perhaps
someone else can.
