Links in all browsers to .pdf files

I can't open a link to a .pdf file, the browser hangs.
I did a Google search and the result was a link to a .pdf file. I
can't connect to the link and open the file in any browser (ie7, mozilla, or
firefox). All browsers
hang and I have to close browser by ctrl+alt-del-end task. I CAN open the
link on
another computer with no problem so I know it's a good link.
When right clicking on the Google search result link I don't get an option
to download the .pdf file. On some Google search results that are .pdf files
I do have an option to open as html which I can open fine. Not all search
results give me the option to view as html.
I have also downloaded another pdf viewer, foxit reader, and the problem is
the same.
Thanks for your help.

Try uninstalling then reinstalling Acrobat Reader.

Francine, thanks for the help but therein lies another problem. I cannot
remove Adobe reader 7.0.7 through the add/remove programs panel. I get a
message that says: "This patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch
package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor
to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package".
I downloaded Adobe reader 7.0.7 again and tried to install it and I get this
message: "ERROR 1714, The older version of Adobe reader 7.0.7 cannot be
removed. Contact your technical support group".
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
